Adventure (also known as Colossal Cave Adventure) is a text-based game created in the mid-1970s. Originally designed as a simulation of a real cave system, it became the template for the genre of adventure games. It operates through a simple cycle: the user types a command (e.g., "take lamp," "go north"), and the system replies with a textual description of the surroundings.
